About project
Kocequ Mobile Apps is a payment gateway application developed to provide secure and seamless digital transactions. Throughout its development journey, the application underwent several iterations in design and functionality. In 2019, a comprehensive UI/UX revamp was initiated to enhance the user journey, supported by extensive user research to better understand user needs and optimize key features. In this project, I was responsible for overseeing the end-to-end design process, from redesigning the interface and usability testing, to ensuring the application was successfully launched and made available for download on the Google Play Store.

Challenges
In 2019, the Kocequ Project became active again after 2 years on hold. Therefore, after joining this project, they hope that in 2020 they can immediately launch by modernizing the UI & UX features on the application to be more user-friendly for members, renewing the business flow, promoting the application, and maintaining the application.
Focus Area
As an IT consultant, I am assigned to the division of the company Soedarpo Informatika, specifically Praweda Ciptakarsa Informatika (PCI). In this role, I have two responsibilities: as a UI/UX Designer and Graphic Designer. My Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are as follows:
Improvisation of UI & UX in digital products
My task on Android Apps is to redesign the application to be more user-friendly, modern, and supportive of several new features. Additionally, I create a Landing page to make Kocequ more recognized and to reach potential partnership collaborations.
Creating promotional media for the application, including digital banners, print materials, and email promotions
Designing effective promotional media for applications across various platforms, including digital banners, print materials, and email promotion campaigns, with a focus on increasing visibility and acceptance of the application in the market.
Designing graphics for business purpose
Creating graphic designs tailored for business needs, including presentations, business idea flowcharts, and whitepapers, to enhance visual communication and support strategic business initiatives.

Briefing Bussiness and Project Requirements Detail
I collaborated with two colleagues from the Sales & Marketing team, who provided the project briefing and outlined the requirements to me. The Project Manager was responsible for reviewing my designs and coordinating the design handover process between me and the programmer. After finalizing the design, I presented my work to the Director and senior management.

User Reasearch
Supported by the Sales and Marketing team, they was also assigned to meet with potential partners such as BMT Beringharjo Yogyakarta and engage directly with traders at Beringharjo Market in Yogyakarta. During these visits, They assessed the market conditions and educated traders on how to use the Kocequ application, which was still under development and not yet publicly available.
Two members of the Marketing team visited the BMT Beringharjo Yogyakarta office and conducted user research for the Kocequ mobile application by interviewing traders at Beringharjo Market. They gathered feedback from the traders, identifying their pain points and key needs to help optimize the app’s functionality.

Design solution process
Based on the User Research conducted at Beringharjo Market (Pasar Beringharjo), it was found that Kocequ App users have broader needs related to digital payments. To optimize the user experience and enhance the app’s relevance to their daily needs, the proposed design solution includes a revamp of the application with the addition of several new features, including:
Zakat Payment, enabling users to conveniently fulfill their zakat obligations through the app.
Property Tax Payment, allowing users to pay property taxes without needing to visit tax offices.
BPJS Billing Payment, providing users with the ability to pay BPJS Health and Employment bills directly through Kocequ App
In addition to these new features, several design updates were also made to improve the visual appeal, readability, and overall navigation experience. The updates covered key areas, including:
Splash Screen, redesigned to appear more modern and better reflect Kocequ’s brand identity.
Login Screen, with a more intuitive and user-friendly layout.
Home Screen, revamped to display services and promotions in a clearer and more informative way.
Payment Screen, streamlined to make the payment process faster and easier to understand.
To ensure visual consistency and support faster future development, a Design System was also created specifically for the Android Mobile App. The Design System includes:
Iconography, with a cohesive set of icons aligned with the app’s visual style.
Typography, featuring fonts that are easy to read and match Kocequ’s brand character.
Color Palette, designed to reflect Kocequ’s identity while ensuring optimal contrast for user comfort.
With this comprehensive approach, Kocequ App is expected to provide a more complete, convenient, and user-centric digital payment experience, fully aligned with the real needs identified in the field.

Handover Design
As part of the Kocequ Payment Gateway Mobile Apps development process, I conducted a formal design handover using Zeplin from Adobe XD to the Project Manager, Programmer, and Quality Assurance team. The handover included complete design files, user flows, and design specifications, ensuring all design elements and interactions were clearly documented to support the development process.
The handover covered key screens such as the splash screen, login, home screen, and payment screens, along with a Design System consisting of typography, color palette, and iconography guidelines. This structured handover process ensured clear communication between teams and helped maintain design consistency throughout the application development lifecycle.

Key Achievements, Impact & Documentation
In preparing for the first launch of the Kocequ app, my focus was on designing an effective strategy to introduce the product to its target audience. This process involved creating engaging visual materials, organizing promotional campaigns, and planning a launch event. I ensured that all communication elements, including social media posts, reflected the brand identity and successfully built excitement. This approach helped capture the attention of potential users while strengthening the product's market positioning.
